A bit delayed, but its been a flurry of activity. The entire house is now framed out, including the massive wall of windows that will be the focal point of our great room, and tomorrow, the crane arrives to put on the roof!
This picture is a few days old, missing a wall or two, but as of today all walls are in and the old roof is gone!
Massive windows! We knew theyd be big, but its actually pretty crazy when you stand in front of them. And to stabilize this wall, they installed these two massive constructed Shear Walls which are pretty wild to see up close.
We’ve also got some awesome drone footage, although this is before much of the great room construction was done:
Guy in blue is the drone operator, and I’m really thankful that he shared these pics (and some videos) with us!
One last shot for this post… We’re building a theater in one section of the basement, and it will take another year or two before it is complete, because we want to really do it right. So for a while, it will be a large, unfinished, cavern. Approximately 22x20x11, with a large kid for scale:
Thats all for today. CRANE PICS NEXT TIME!
