This house is aDOORable!

OK, got the bad pun out of the way!

The big update this round is drywall (like woah!) and lots of materials coming in for the next big push. First up, drywall:

The great room ceiling height is now on full display! Approx 20′ high, with so much natural light!

The back staircase is now operational, and Catherine of course got to take the inaugural voyage down them. They really are a good addition though, so I’m glad she talked me into it.

The upstairs hall has SO MUCH natural light as well, and this makes us so happy. I’m not a big fan of hallways, so I was a little anxious about what this one would feel like, but with the open foyer and tons of windows, it feels very open.

zone 2

My office looks amazing too! It’s definitely big. Big enough for two zones – the desk/working area and then a listening setup. I’ll need to figure out some odd resonances and echoing though, which seems worse in this room than any other, for some reason.

The primary bedroom is also nearly done, and it feels very big and open. Super exciting!

We also have our garage doors in, completing the final part of the exterior close-in! We went with a natural wood look, to break up all the white & black, and ideally matching the front porch a bit. Texture and warmth is something we want to carry throughout the interior as well.

And last but not least — the doors! All of ours interior doors came in today, and will be installed once the drywall is complete.

Last bit of an update – we’ve had to move from our last townhouse into another temporary one. Wow does moving suck! But we’re here, living out of boxes, and all anxious to move back to our forever home.
