It’s been a busy few weeks as we get closer and closer to the delivery date. First, on the outside, we had our driveway done. This was a huge effort to rip out the old one, reshape, grade, and pave the new one. But it came out great!

The old… And the new!

Thick, smooth, flat but enough slope to shed water. Looking good.
Even busier on the inside. First, the paint!

We went with a color called Shiitake, and I think that captures it perfectly. Also, fun fact: the light is not on in that bathroom, its actually the afternoon sun. We get an amazing “golden hour” on that side of the house!

We’ve also started the lighting install, with a big delivery of lighting fixtures:

All in, ~135 recessed lights in the ceiling, ~10 in the floor, and about a mile of strip lighting inside and out.
Now that paint is done, the railings and floors are next. The railing is mostly complete:

Yesterday, today, and for the next few days will be all about hardwood floors. They started in the upstairs hall (nay, concourse) and they already look incredible!

Much more to come! Today our shower glass goes in, more floors, and once the floors are done, plumbing. Also mucho electrical to still be installed.
Hopefully we’re less than a month out, so hosting Thanksgiving is on!
