We’re in the home stretch

10/24! That’s the date we’re working towards, and it’s starting to feel realistic.

Here’s a few photo updates:

All the details! We have knobs, we have pulls, and there are many different sizes. But they came out amazing!

It was a lot of trouble trying to find pulls that matched our kitchen faucets, but I think these did the job. Of course, you can’t tell because that picture was taken in the dark, with a flashlight…

But they look even better on the dark blue island!

We’ve also had a ton of electrical work to do (although there is still more to do…)

This is our lighting control panel, which will allow us to control any of the lights from keypads anywhere in the house, along with phones/tablets and touch panels:

And on the inside….

I’m not even sure what all of this does, but I’m excited for the end result!

We’ve also got door hardware:

And a range hood (still to be painted!)

And toilets! Huzzah!

Including a very fancy Toto washlet for the primary bedroom:

Back in the kitchen, we’ve had the first few appliances installed, including the Dishwasher:

And drink fridge:

And outside, we’ve had Groff landscaping busy with installing our front walkway:

And last (for this update) but definitely not least… I mentioned a lot of electrical has been happening, and while there is still more to go, here’s the house ALL LIT UP.

Maximum brightness! There will still be lots of dimming and tuning and angling of the lights. But while this over-exposed nighttime picture captures the intensity, inside the lights are actually super nice.

Theres still a bit more to do…

  • Finish the painting, including touching up any dings and scuffs
  • Installing the basement carpet and gym rubber floors
  • Wrapping up the porch steps
  • Finish the front walkway
  • Install the control and network rack and get the network online [excited for this bit!]
  • Move!

We’re all very eager to be home, very homesick for our neighborhood, and glad that this journey is coming to an end soon!
